Alfred J. Hudak, 88, Dallas Twp., passed away Thursday, March 10, 2022 at The Veterans Administration Medical Center, Plains. Born in Dallas, he was the son of the late Anthony “Anton” and Mary Lopuchovsky Hudak and was a graduate of Dallas Twp. High School.
Alfred was a member of St. Therese’s Church, Shavertown and was an usher for over 50 years. He was a warehouse manager before his retirement and had also worked at Offset paperback for some years. He was also a lifelong handyman and periodically acted as Chauffer for the Meuser family during his retirement. He was very proud of the fact that he had built his own house and for decades was an Accordion player in his trio, The Merry Makers Polka Band. Alfred had served his country proudly in the Army in Korea in the Eighth Army band. He was extremely proud of his children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a by brothers David, Steven, Joseph, Anthony and John, Sisters, Josephine, Anna, Marie, Victoria, and Isabella. Surviving are his wife of 60 years, the former Betty Mrozoski, at home. Daughter, Jane Tomko and her husband Ron, Blandon, Pa. Son, James Hudak, Dallas. Grandchildren, Nicholas, Ronald, Anastasia Tomko. Sara, Lauren Hudak. Sister, Rose Salansky.
Memorial service will be held Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at 10:00 AM at St. Therese’s Church, Pioneer Ave, Shavertown with The Rev. James Paisley, Pastor St. Therese’s Church, officiating.
