Andrew Kaskus, Jr., 94, Tunkhannock, passed away, Monday, February 5, 2018 at The Meadows Nursing Center, Dallas. Born in Wilkes-Barre Township, he was the son of the late Andrew and Mary Wyda Kaskus and was a graduate of Wilkes-Barre Township High School and attended Wilkes College. Andrew was a plant manager with American Technical Industries in Blakley before his retirement. He had also work for Bell Laboratories, NJ, and D. L. Maxon, Old Forge, Ingersol Rand, and also was involved in Dairy farming.
Andrew was a Navy Veteran of WW II and fought at D-Day on Omaha Beach. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Dallas. American Legion Post #644, Swoyersville. Wyoming Lodge #468 F & AM. Keystone Consistory and Irem Shrine. He was Past President of the Uniformed Units of Irem and served on the Board of directors. Andrew was an avid hunter and fisherman and an all-around handyman.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 73 years the former Helen S. Gula Kaskus, sisters, Mildred Coutts, brothers, John, Elmer, Edward, and Michael. Surviving are sisters, Dorothy Rhines and Margaret Nikoden, son, Ronald Kaskus and his wife Donna, Tunkhannock, daughter, Andrea Kaskus, Vincennes, Indiana, Grandchildren Nicole Cadwalader and her husband Jason, Gena Beky and her husband Andrew., and 5 great grandchildren.
Funeral will be held Friday, February 9, 2018 at 11:00 am at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 474 Yalick Road, Dallas, Pa., with The Rev. Charles Grube, pastor, St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, officiating. Interment will be in Fern Knoll Burial Park, Dallas with Military Honors. Friends may call Friday from 9:30am until time of service. Arrangements are under the direction of The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, Inc., 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas. Wyoming Loge #468 will conduct a Masonic Service Friday Morning.
