Betty Davis, Sr.

August 23, 1929 — June 13, 2018

Betty peacefully returned to our Father on Tuesday June 12th at home in Shavertown.  A life residence of the Back Mountain, she lived her wonderful life in Oak Hill, Dallas, Pa., lovingly raising her 5 children.  Born August 23, 1929 in Lebanon, DE., her parents brought her to Shavertown where she graduated from Kingston High School.  She was the daughter of the late Willard S. and Elsie Todd Puterbaugh and sister to the late Willard Jr. and Rita Puterbaugh.

Betty was a member of the Idetown Lehman United Methodist Church.  She was also a member of Chapter #396 Order of the Eastern Star, Dallas.  She retired from Offset Paperback as a shipping clerk to help raise her granddaughter Juliauna.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband John James Davis in 1968.  Surviving are her sons; John Davis Jr. and his wife Bonnie, Pottstown, Marc Davis and his wife Connie, Dorrance, daughters; Betty Whalen and her husband Robert, Dallas, Kim Davis, Shavertown, Sand Newman and husband Johnny, Hawley, Nephew; Rick Sickler, Toms River, N.J., eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Funeral will be held privately at the convenience of the family.  Interment will be in the Memorial Shrine Cemetery, Wyoming.  Graveside services by family friend Pastor Louis Aita. Arrangements are under the direction of The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, Inc., 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas.
