Blodwen Shaffer, 91, Dallas, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital. Born in Edwardsville, she was the daughter of the late William and Jennie (Roberts) Lewis and was a graduate of Edwardsville high school class of 1948.
She was a member of Valley View Church, Larksville and was also a past member of The Dallas Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Apart from raising her children and grandchildren, she worked as a floral designer at her daughters’ flower shop. She loved crafting and was a talented knitter, but above all else she loved spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years Donald and granddaughter Ashley Simchick. Surviving are her daughters, Donna Pitts, Dallas, Gail Touey and her husband Michael, Dallas, Jill Ketchel and her husband John, Swoyersville. Grandchildren, Bruce Pitts, Kingston, Jessa Pitts, Nolensville, TN, Mallory Wolman, Malden, MA, Amanda Touey May, Ithaca, NY. Great Grandchildren, Adriana, Kierra, Penelope, Michael, Waylon, Bennett, Vivienne, Luna, and Everly and Brother, Thomas Lewis, Hunlock Creek. In addition, she leaves behind her dearest companion, her chihuahua “Rikki.”
Funeral service will be held, Saturday, June 11. 2022 at 12:00 PM from The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, Inc., 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas. Friends may call from 11:00 until time of service. Online condolences may be made at Disquefuneralhome.com.
