Cecelia T. Kearney, of Dallas, Passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at Wilkes Barre General Hospital. Born in Dupont, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Ruda Dziuba. She was a graduate of St. John's High School, Pittston and Wilkes Barre General Hospital Nursing later working at Wilkes Barre General Hospital as Head Nurse in the Pediatrics Department and later at Clarks Summit Retreat State Hospital. She was a member of Gate of Heaven Church and the Church's Altar and Rosary Society. Surviving are her husband of 61 years Edward Kearney and Sons, Edward and his wife Anne Marie of McLean, VA, John of Dallas, and Thomas and his wife Deb of Mahwah, NJ, eight grandchildren Brian, Carolyn (Stone), Daniel, Brendan, Katherine, Joseph, Michael and Kevin Kearney and three great grandchildren, Emily and Brooke Kearney and Benjamin Stone. She is also survived by two sisters, Mildred Kowalcik of Dupont and Mary Anne Kocylowski of Bear Creek. Funeral will be held Monday at 9:30 am from The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, Inc. 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas. Friends may call Sunday from 6 pm to 8 Pm. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am at Gate of Heaven Church, Dallas with the Rev. Daniel Toomey, pastor, officiating. Entombment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph's Center c/o 2010 Adams Ave. Scranton, Pa. 18509.
