Charlene Carey Gerlach

Charlene Carey Gerlach, 70, Dallas, passed away, Sunday, March 12, 2023 at her residence. Born in Kingston, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Marjorie Thomas Bird, Sr. and was a graduate of Dallas High School.

Charlene retired from the housekeeping department with The Dallas School District. She was a member of Prince of Peace Episcopal Church, Dallas. She was also a member of Northeastern PA Horseman’s association. She was active with the PA Renaissance fair. She was a talented seamstress, and her favorite activities were sewing, crafting, horseback riding, and her beloved cats.

Charlene is survived by her husband of 22 years, Gary Gerlach at home. Daughters, Jamie Semanek and her husband Jared and Cari Gerlach. Sons, Steven Carey and his fiancé Jennie Tello and Kristopher Gerlach. Her grandchildren, Nathan Thorp, Ethan Carey, Maralie Larsson and Amelia Semanek. Sister, Phyllis Skovronsky. Brother, Arthur Bird, Jr. Also, survived by her mother-in-law, Helma Gerlach.

Funeral service will be held, Thursday, March 16, 2023 at 11:00 AM from The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, Inc. 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas, 18612, with The Rev. Joseph Rafferty, officiating. Interment will be in Denison Cemetery, Swoyersville.
