Dolores Eleanor Battle, 87, of Shavertown, passed away, Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

Born in Plymouth, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Caroline Wolas Shwarzec, she graduated from Plymouth High School and was Valedictorian of her class she then attended Wilkes College in Accounting.

Dolores was a member St. Theresa's Church, Shavertown. She was a Government Bookkeeper with Luzerne County's Foster Grandparents Association. She was a member of the Polish Society and Alter and Rosary Society of St Cecelia's Church.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Sherman Gilbert, plant manager for Leslie Fay clothing line, who died in 1971, and preceded in death by her later husband Thomas Battle who died in 1996. Surviving are her four children, Paula Gilbert Gray, a national award winning high school math teacher of Bridgewatter, NJ., Lawrence Gilbert an engineer and retired senior ezecutive with Proctor & Gamble, and his wife Stephanie of Boynton Beach, FLA., Roberta Gilbert Costello Walter, owner/manager of the four Mr. B's fashion boutiques, and her husband Bernard, Harveys Lake, and Michael Gilbert, forensic CPA, and his wife Jan of San Rafael, CA. The grandchildren are Darrah Stredny, Debbie Gray Lysicatos, Jeremy, Nick, Christopher, Brian, Martin, and Natalie Gilbert, Robert, Ryan, and Richard, Costello. The great Grandchildrenare Jordan Jacques, Jadyn DiNardi, Madeline Magliocca, Alexander and Andrew Lysicatos, Andrew, Cameran, and Casey Costello, Noah and Richard Costello, Jr., Brandon Gilbert, and Madison Smitherman.

Funeral Services will be held privately, at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas. Donations in Dolores' memory may be made to St. Theresa's Church c/o 64 Davis Street, Shavertown, Pa. 18708.
