Doris Walters

Doris Ikeler Walters, 92, Dallas, passed away, Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital. Born in Bloomsburg, she was the daughter of the late Miles Rudolph and Edythe Manning Ikeler and was a graduate of Lehman High School.

Doris was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Dallas. She was a Secretary/bookkeeper with her husband in their family business, A.F. Walters Enterprises for 55 years. Doris was also a member of Chapter 396, Order of The Eastern Star, Dallas and the 136th Navy Seabee Auxiliary for 40 years. She was a Telephone Operator with Bell Telephone, Napa, CA during WW II, Commonwealth Telephone, Dallas.

She was preceded in death by her husband August F. Walters in 2007, brother, Don Ikeler and sister, Jeanne Ikeler Reed. Surviving is her son August F Walters IV, daughter Ardeth Walters Dale and her husband Philip C. Dale, Dallas. Grandchildren, Andrew P. Dale, Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, Katie Lynn Dale, Dallas.

Funeral will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Fern Knoll Burial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, Inc., 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas.
