Dorothy Bottoms

Dorothy C. Bottoms, 74, Dallas, passed away, Monday, July 17, 2017 at Celtic Hospice Wilkes-Barre. Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late Richard R. and Myrtle Jones Hummer and had attended the Hanover area schools. Dorothy had worked for Offset Paper Back Manufacturing. She was a member of The VFW Auxiliary, Post 396, Wyoming for over 30 years. She was District President and Hospital representative for over ten years. Dorothy was a member of The Centermoreland United Methodist Church. Dorothy was preceded in death by a sister, Deborah Hummer, Brother, Richard Hummer, Grandson, Aaron Setzer. Surviving are her husband David Bottoms, at home, Daughters, Sharon Evarts, Dallas, Coleen Setzer, Hunlock Creek, Deborah Kolesar, Plymouth, Mary Ellen Brown, Dallas, Lisa Granahan, Larksville. Son, Paul Evarts, Hunlock Creek. Sisters, Joann Smith, Forty-Fort, Elizabeth Berlew, Dallas, Donna Travis, Edwardsville, Brothers, Thomas, Courtdale, James, Dallas, and William, Wilkes-Barre. 20 Grandchildren and 23 Great Grandchildren Funeral will be held Friday, July 21 2017 at 10:00 Am from The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, Inc., 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas, with The Rev. Ruth Liples, pastor, Orange United Methodist Church, officiating. Friends may call Thursday from 6 to 8 pm. Dorothy's family would like to thank Suzanne the nurse of Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital, also The ICU Staff of Geisinger, as well as the staff of Celtic Hospice, Wilkes-Barre for the loving care given to Dorothy.
