Dorothy Rose Smith

Dorothy Rose Smith, 98, Dallas, passed away, Saturday, December 28, 2024 surrounded by love at her residence. Born in Kingston, she was the daughter of the late George Malligo and Sarah Shaver Malligo and had attended the Kingston Schools.

 Dorothy was an inspector with Rex Shoe Company until her retirement. She was a member of The Dorranceton United Methodist Church. Dorothy served on the board of the VAVS as a State and National Representatives. She was also the first volunteer to serve as an Ambassador at the Medical Center. Dorothy volunteered over 9000 hours at the VA Medical Center. In addition, she served as the DAVA Commander of Chapter 102, Kingston for 6yrs. Some of her favorite activities were playing BINGO and going to the Casino.

 Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband first Husband Fred Pope and second Raymond Smith. Sister, Betty Gerchak and brother, Donald Malligo. 

 Surviving are Children Betty Ann McCuen, Husband Rick, Fred Pope Jr, Wife Lorranie, Grandchildren, Donna Cain, Husband Jody, Sandra Troiani, Husband Joe, Thomas Pope, and John Mooney, 8 Great Grandchildren, and 3 Great Great Grandchildren.

 Funeral Services will be held privately at the convenience of her family.
