Dr. Anthony Mussari, Sr

Dr. Anthony J. Mussari, Sr., 75, of Dallas, passed away Wednesday, October 17, 2017 at The Meadows Nursing Center, Dallas. He suffered from a rear Brain Disease, Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. He is survived by his wife Kitch. Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Angelo and Jane Petro Mussari. Tony was a college professor for 40 years and earned his Ph.D. at The University of Iowa. He was also an award winning Documentary film maker, the producer of a popular local television series, "Windsor Park Stories" and the author of four books including "Appointment with Disaster". In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Elena Fugate and Tony Jr., Son in law Jeff Fugate and two grandchildren, P.J. and Julia. Also his sister Mary Claire Doyle, brother in law Jack Doyle, sister in law Shirley Mussari and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Kenneth. The nurses and staff at the Hospice of The Sacred Heart and the nurses' aides and entire staff including dietary, housekeeping and maintenance at the Meadows became our family and will forever remain in our hearts. The professional skill, kindness and compassion of Dr. Patrick Kilduf made our journey so much easier. We are grateful for his care. To Dr. Salvatore Lawrence and Julie, our heartfelt thanks for the care, kindness, and support. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 9:30 Am at St. Mary's Church of The Immaculate Conception, 134 South Washington Street, Wilkes-Barre. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Twp.
