Edna M. DeSombre, 91, of Dallas, passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at the Meadows Nursing/Rehabilitation in Dallas, Pennsylvania. She was born in Plymouth, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Ralph and Hannah Roden Harrison. She graduated from Plymouth High School in 1944. After high school she did office work at Pomeroy's Department Store in Wilkes-Barre and later employed at Bolen's in Forty Fort measuring the spacing for pleats in custom drapes. Edna married Everett DeSombre on April 28, 1947 and they resided in Forty-Fort until they relocated to an apartment at the Meadows Manor assisted living in Dallas, Pennsylvania. Preceding Edna in death were her husband Everett in 2016, sons Kurt and James, and her brothers Willard, Lloyd and Edgar Harrison. Edna loved her faith, family, and her dear friends. She will be greatly missed by her two daughters-in-law, grand-children; great grand-children; and nieces and nephews. Funeral will be held Sunday, July 2, 2017 at 5:00 Pm at The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas with The Rev. Michael Stine, pastor, Forty-Fort United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be private. Friends may call Sunday from 4:00 PM until time of service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Forty-Fort United Methodist Church, 26 Yeager Ave., Forty-Fort, Pa. 18704 or the Back Mountain Food Pantry, c/o 40 Knob Hill Road, Dallas, Pa. 18612.
