Edna Marie Papciak

       Edna Marie Papciak, 79, Dallas, passed away, Sunday, November 26, 2023 at her residence surrounded by her loving family and close family friends, Katie and Michael Gorham. Born on August 3, 1944, in Edwight, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late, Walter J. and Floda Mae Casto Erwin and had attended Marsh Fork High School.

     Edna was a cafeteria manager and worked in the custodial department of the Sweet Home School District in Amherst, NY, where she retired from in 2019. She was also employed by the General Motors Corporation in Tonawanda, NY, as an assembler. She enjoyed golfing with her husband, taking care of her much loved animals, and traveling, but mostly, she enjoyed her cherished time with friends and family, of which she had many, all over the world. She truly touched the lives of so many people in so many places, and people in multiple countries are mourning this loss.

      Prior to losing her brave fight against pancreatic cancer, she spent her years of retirement traveling with her family, including multiple trips to the Dominican Republic, a recent trip to Hawaii, and Las Vegas. She truly loved life and being with people. She never met a stranger and was loved by so many.

       Edna was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley J. Papciak in 2012 as well as numerous brothers and sisters. She is survived by her daughters, Christine Papciak, Brooklyn, NY, Elizabeth Farina and her husband Robert, Dallas. Son, James Erwin and his wife Karen, Fontana, CA. 11 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins throughout the United States, and of course countless friends she loved and who loved her dearly.

       The family would like to thank St. Luke’s University health network for their dedication to her care, and Hospice of the Sacred Heart for their compassionate treatment of her.
