Edward Kosakowski

Edward “Skip” T. Kosakowski, 65, of Dallas, PA passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 23, 2018 at his home. He was born on November 13, 1952 to the late Edward N. and Shirley (Steinruck) Kosakowski in Kingston PA.  His father gave him the nickname of “Skip” while serving in the Korean Conflict via letters home.

He is survived by Tanya (Duy) Nghiem, Chalfont, PA and Courtney (Adam) Tkaczyk, Swoyersville, PA.  His pride and joy were his six grandchildren- Nicho, Sophie, and Jaxson Nghiem and Adyson, Paisley, and Brayden Tkaczyk.  He was a son-in-law to Joseph A. Silva, Selinsgrove, PA.  He was a loving brother to Gail Summers, Fairless Hills, PA; Colleen Kosakowski, Hempstead, NY; Connie Cummings, Feasterville, PA and Trish Rosemeyer, Fairless Hills, PA.  Several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Skip married the love of his life, the late Donna Marie Silva, in September 1976.

He graduated from Pennsbury High School in 1970.  Skip retired from Proctor and Gamble’s warehouse in May 2004 after having 28 years of service.  He previously worked at the old Wesley’s Garage in Dallas.

He was member of Our Lady of Victory Church in Harvey’s Lake.  Skip was an active member of the Harvey’s Lake Rod and Gun Club and an avid trapshooter.  He loved to fish and hunt.

“Poppy” would often be found on the sidelines of his grandchildren’s games, gymnastic meets, and school activities.  He never missed a game and even traveled to games as far as Cooperstown, NY. Poppy was known for hosting “fishing camp” every summer which became an annual tradition with Nicho.  He was an excellent cook and the grandkids especially loved his strawberry jelly and pumpkin cheesecakes.

Funeral will be held, Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 10:00 AM from The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, Inc. 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas with Funeral Mass at 10:30 Am at Our Lady of Victory Church, Harvey’s Lake. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Carverton. Friends may call Friday from 6 to 8 pm at the funeral home.
