Edward Petty

Edward J. Petty, 90, Trucksville, passed away, Monday, December 4, 2017 at The Meadows Nursing Center, Dallas. Born in Luzerne, He was the son of the Late Harrison and Dora Dogard Petty Edward was a Service Technician with Suburban Propane for many years. He was a member of St. Therese's Church, Shavertown. Edward was a Veteran with the Navy in WW II. He very much enjoyed Hunting and fishing. He was a devoted Grandfather to his 2 Grandsons. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary A. Petty in July of this year, sisters, Helen Charnitski and Dorothy Maleski, brothers, Henry and Donald Petty. Surviving are his daughters, Rosemary Bray, Tewksbury, MA, Barbara Petty, Columbia, MO, and Susan Van Horn and her husband Ed, Dallas, Grandsons, Thomas and Samuel Van Horn. Brother, Robert Petty and his wife Rose. Sisters-in-law, Catherine Petty and Frances Ochman. Funeral will be held Thursday, December 7, 2017 at 8:30 am from Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, Inc., 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas, with Funeral Mass at 9:00 AM at St. Therese's Church, Shavertown, with The Rev. James Paisley, officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Carverton. Friends may call Wednesday from 6 to 8 pm at the Funeral Home. Donations may be made to St. Therese's Church, c/o 64 Davis St., Shavertown, Pa. 18708.
