Emily R. Jenkins

 Emily R. Jenkins, 92, of Shavertown (Jackson Twp.), passed away on Friday, December 27, 2024, in the Oak Ridge Nursing Home of Taylor, PA. Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late William and Emily Mae (Pickett) Jones. Emily was a graduate of Wilkes-Barre Twp. High School Class of 1950 and attended the Wyoming Seminary Business School. Prior to moving to the Back Mountain in 1970, she was employed by the Veteran’s Administration of Wilkes-Barre. Emily then went on to be Secretary of the Lake Lehman School District’s Junior High before retiring in 1993. She was also an active member of the Trinity Presbyterian Church of Dallas.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Edison H. Jenkins (1988).

 Surviving are her children, Janet Beth Cunius of Shavertown and David Jenkins, and his wife Jolie, of Brookeville, MD. Emily has three grandchildren: Kathleen Jenkins and her family, Michael Jenkins and his wife Kristen, and Lauren Cunius. She also has three great-grandchildren: Cody, Lily and Harrison.

 Funeral service will be held Friday, January 3, 2024, at 7:30pm in the Richard H. Disque Funeral Home located at 2940 Memorial Hwy, Dallas, PA 18612 with Rev. Dr. Murray Joseph Thompson officiating. Friends may visit on Friday, January 3, 2024, from 5:00-7:30PM at the Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas, PA. 18612. Interment will occur at a later date.
