George Ondish, 90, of Dallas, passed away Friday, Oct. 21, 2016, in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born in Kingston Township, he was the son of the late John and Eva Raynitz Ondish and had attended Dallas Township schools.
George had been a welder with Egan Welding. He was a member of Dallas United Methodist Church.
He was a World War II veteran as a staff sergeant and was a member of Daddow Isaacs Post 672 American Legion, Dallas. He was an avid hunter and Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Janet Dymond; brothers, John and Andy Ondish; sisters, Mary Kubusti, Sue Roberts and Helen Kamont.
Surviving are his wife of 60 years, the former Vivian Muchler; brother, Peter Ondish; sister, Ann Plesnar; grandson, Bill Boston and his wife, Lisa; four great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral with military honor will be held at 11 a.m. Monday from Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas, with the Rev. Robert Wood, pastor of Dallas United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Sweet Valley. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday.
