Grace Goeringer

Grace Keay Goeringer, of Dallas, passed away on Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at the age of 91.  Born in Detroit, MI she was the daughter of the late Alfred Keay and Margaret Williams Keay. Grace graduated from Coughlin High School and went on to earn her degree as a registered nurse from Wilkes-Barre General Hospital School of Nursing. She married the late Carl Frederick Goeringer, son of the late Harry and Mary Goeringer.

Grace was an active member of Prince of Peace Episcopal Church, Dallas. She was an avid bridge player and belonged to several bridge clubs. She was a Red Cross Volunteer and a volunteer with Meals on Wheels. She was a dedicated fan of Dallas Football for all five sons and her grandsons. She very much enjoyed attending all her grandchildren’s many events.

Her greatest joy was raising her five boys and later participating in her thirteen grandchildren and one great grandchild’s lives.

In addition to her parents, Grace was preceded in death by her husband, Carl in 1996, her brother, Alfred Keay, and her sister, Jane Merkle and daughter-in-law Aine McDowell Goeringer.

She will be greatly missed by her five sons and their families, Carl Goeringer, Jr., and partner, Aileen McHale, Lehman, Dr. Bruce Goeringer and his wife, Jan, Dallas, Robert Goeringer and partner, Susan Beard, Exton, Pa., Mark Goeringer and his wife Julie, Springfield, VA., Kurt Goeringer and his wife Patricia, Houston, TX., Daughter-in-law, Kate Goeringer.  Thirteen Grandchildren, Carl III (his wife Andrea) and Matt; Eric, Brian, and Adam; Meredith, Ross, and Tori; Jessica, Katie, and Craig; Madi and Alex. Great grandchild, Chloe. Numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be held Monday, July 9, 2018 at 10:30 Am at Prince of Peace Episcopal Church, 420 Main Street, Dallas with the Rev. Joseph Rafferty, pastor Prince of Peace Episcopal Church, officiating. Entombment will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Wilkes-Barre. Friends may call Sunday from 6 to 8 PM at The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, Inc., 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas. Grace’s family would like to thank Dr. Alan Boonin and to the staff at the Meadows Nursing Center for their kindness and care given to Grace.

Those attending the funeral service are to go directly to the church on Monday.
