It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Henrietta (Heni) Grosdidier, a resilient and kind woman whose strength was admired by all who knew her. Heni passed away in the comfort of her home surrounded by family on March 28, 2025, at the age of 82.
Heni was a rare treasure in that she was not ostentatious with her love for life but rather exemplified a humility and warm appreciation for the little things. She was a woman who never let hardships define her and persevered until the end, her sweet disposition never wavering.
A creative spirit, Heni was often the best dressed person in the room due to her early mastering of the sewing machine, rivaled only by her knitting skills. She spent countless hours designing and creating clothing for herself and her family and passed on her love of the arts to her granddaughters.
An avid explorer, Heni welcomed adventures in foreign cities and traveled often to experience different cultures and create lasting memories. She found joy in discovering the world and shared that enthusiasm with her loved ones.
Beyond her family, Henrietta also valued her friendships, especially with her beloved group, Friends and New Neighbors. With them, she shared laughter, companionship, and countless cherished moments that brought light to her life. Heni also made many friends at her gym who shared her passion for fitness. Heni was a graduate of Coughlin High School and went on to work at Union Paper & Supply Co. She was a member of Saint Therese’s church in Shavertown.
Heni is survived by her daughter, Bernadette Martin (Douglas); stepson, W. Richard Grosdidier (Tien); grandchildren, Chelsea Martin, Amanda Swope (Garrett), Ryan Grosdidier (Maureen), Phillip Grosdidier (Cathy); great-grandchildren, Madison, Luke, and Liam; brother, Stanley Rembish; and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and extended family, all who will miss her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents (Stanley and Anna Rembish); first husband (John Ewastation); second husband (Wayne Grosdidier); and brother (George Rembish).
Heni’s family would like to extend their deepest gratitude and appreciation for her caregiver (and buddy), Mary, as well as the staff at Residential Hospice for their compassionate care and support.
A service to honor Heni’s life will be held on Friday, April 4, 2025, beginning at 9:30 AM at the Richard H. Disque Funeral Home located at 2940 Memorial Highway in Dallas. Calling hours are from 9:30 to 11:00 AM and the service will begin at 11:00 AM. The committal will take place at Mount Olivet Cemetery after the service. Family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate her life and share memories. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Heni’s name.
Heni’s adventurous spirit, zest for life, and strength of character will remain an inspiration to us all, as her love and warmth are indelible in the hearts of all who knew her. We should all be so lucky to find joy in the small moments of life like Heni did. She will be terribly missed. On line condolences can be made at Disquefuneralhome.com
