Janet Caffrey

Janet “Jan” Caffrey of Shavertown, passed away peacefully at Wilkes Barre General hospital on April 4, 2023. Jan was born on July 12, 1937 in Scranton, PA. She was the daughter of  James and Virginia Donlin. Jan was known to be the best mother to her 5 wonderful children, and had a witty personality.
Jan was preceded in death by her parents, James and Virginia Donlin. Brothers James, Harold, and Patrick Donlin. First husband, Anthony Katra, second husband Michael Caffery, and son Anthony “Tony” Katra.
Surviving are her siblings, Paul Donlin, Ellen Kivler, Paulette Garber, and Susan “Susie” Higgins. Her children, Annette Phillips and Gene of Tampa, FL; Jeff Katra and Elaine of Centermoreland, PA; Shaun Katra and Judy of Kingston, PA; Scott Katra and Colleen of Shavertown, PA. Her grandchildren Jeffrey (Courtney), Chad (Cierra), Kristi, Kellan, and Kyle.
