Jean Mikulis

Jean M. Butka Mikulis, 87, Dallas, passed away, Thursday, December 6, 2018 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital. Born in Nanticoke, she was the daughter of the late John and Stella Vishnefski Butka and was a graduate of Nanticoke High School and attended Middlesex County College.

Jean was a member of Gate of Heaven Church, Dallas. She was very active with the church and volunteering at The Meadows Nursing Center for over 20 years. Jean had worked for Blue Cross for many retires and earlier working for Jersey Paper Company in the clerical departments of both. She was an avid Boscov’s shopper.

She was preceded in death by a brother, John F. Butka. Surviving are a sister, Dorothy F. Lakatos, Williamsport. Several nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be held Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at 10:00 am from The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, Inc., 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas, with Funeral Mass at 10:30 Am at Gate of Heaven Church, Dallas with The Rev. Daniel Toomey, pastor, Gate of Heaven Church, officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Twp. Friends may call Tuesday from 9:00 am until time of service at the Funeral Home.
