Jeanette (Jane) Zaborowski January 9, 2016 Jeanette (Jane ) Zaborowski passed away Saturday, January 9, 2016 in Lee Memorial Hospital, Ft. Myers, Florida. She was born in Nanticoke on August 29, 1933 to the late Joseph Golembieski and Eva Rodko Golembieski. She attended Nanticoke schools and graduated from Nanticoke High School in 1951. She immediately entered Mercy Hospital School of Nursing, Wilkes-Barre, Pa. She graduated from nursing school in 1954 and was employed by Mercy Hospital and then by Dr. John C. Brady. She married Edward J. Zaborowski, a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY on June 11 1955 in St. Mary's Church, Nanticoke by Monsignor Fedorowicz. She traveled with her husband through out his military career, except when he was serving in Korea and Vietnam. She had three children, LTC. (Ret) Michael E. was born in the Naval Hospital, Portsmouth, VA. and currently resides in El Paso, TX. Edward, Jr. was born in Norfolk, VA. and resides in Smyrna, TN. Daughter, Annamarie Marasco and was born in Salem, NJ and resides in Somers, NY. Jeanette was active in women's organizations throughout her husbands military career. She was treasurer of the Officer's Wife's Club at White Sands Missile Range, NM. She served as the Advisor To Army Community Services in Key West, FL. where her husband served as Key West Air Defense Commander. She and her husband had the privilege to host Congressman and Mrs. Flood who visited Key West for the sinking of the USS Wilkes-Barre as an artificial reef. While her husband was serving in Vietnam, she resided in El Paso, TX. with her three children. She volunteered her services at the Ft. Bliss Thrift Shop and also volunteered as the school nurse at St. Pious X Catholic School in El Paso. She was also a substitute teacher at the school and later taught 7th grade English full time. Additionally throughout her husbands military and civilian career, she found time to volunteer her services to the Roman Catholic Churches she attended. Upon her husbands retirement from the military and corporate world, they relocated to the area of their birth and co-owned two Variety and Craft stores in Shickshinny and Berwick for twelve years. She was also co-owner of the Upstairs Gallery, a custom framing and art gallery in Shickshinny. She was active in St. Mary's Church in Mocanaqua as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, a member of the Alter and Rosary Society, co-char along with her husband, of RENEW 2000. She willing gave her time, talents, and treasure to all activities in the church. The last eight years of her life where beset illnesses but she fought valiantly against them. Never complaining, she participated in all family activities. She is survived by her husband, three children, eight grandchildren, four step Grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. A Memorial Mass will be said by Father Daniel Toomey, at Our Lady of Victory Parish, Harvey's Lake at 11 Am, Saturday, February 27, 2016.
