John Cable, Jr

April 22, 1929 — November 13, 2017

John E. Cable, Jr. (Jack), 88, Dallas, passed away, Monday, November 13, 2017 at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the son of the late John E. and Mildred Mullan Cable, born in Germantown, PA. He graduated from Episcopal Academy in Philadelphia and went to Colgate University where he received his Bachelor's degree in Latin. Jack was an Eagle Scout with Troop #50 in Devon, PA and he was inducted into the Episcopal Academy Athletic Hall of Fame, in November, 2009. He was an avid golfer, member at Merion and Pocono Manor Golf Clubs and was an all-around sports enthusiast. Jack had a long-term career in sales. Surviving are his wife of 23 years Jane Cullen and his daughters, Cathie Meholic and her husband Steve, Macungie, PA; Diane Stanus and her husband Leo, Schnecksville, PA; and Debbie Shilanski and her husband Dan, Shavertown; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Memorial service will be held Monday, November 20, 2017 at 11;00 am at The Trucksville United Methodist Church, 40 Knob Hill Road, Shavertown. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, Inc., 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas.
