John M. Emil, Sr.

     John M. Emil, Sr., 77, Dallas, passed away Sunday, April 28, 2024 at his residence. Born in Kingston Township, he was the son of the late Fred Emil and Melvina Emil Gray and was a graduate of Dallas High School. 

    John was a HVAC tech with Mahaffey Oil Company for over 25 years until his retirement. John had served his country proudly in the Air Force during the Vietnam conflict. He was a member of Daddow Isaacs Post #672 American Legion, Dallas. He was also a former commander of Post #672 as well as District 12 Commander and member of the DAV. Some of his favorite activities was fishing and spending time with his family. 

     He was preceded in death by his wife the former Irene Shotwell in 2022 and Brother, Fred Emil. Surviving are his sons, John Emil, Jr., Luzerne and Rodney Emil and Gavin W Wilson, Kingston. Grandchildren, Rebecca, John III, and Robert. Great Grandchildren, Emely and Elly Casterline. Sisters, Sarah Derhammer and Betty Duda. Brothers, Charles Emil and James Emil. His companion Charlene Emel.

     Funeral will be held Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at 11:00 AM from The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas, Pa. 18612 with The Rev. Dr. William Lewis officiating.
