John Engler, Jr.

John Engler, Jr. 91, Shavertown, passed away peacefully, Monday, April 3, 2023 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital. Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late John and Leona Mae Johnson Engler and was a graduate of Westmoreland High School class of 1950.

John was a truck driver with Charles Stoekler Trucking before his retirement. He was affiliated with Phil Simms Petroleum and Miner Hillard for some time. He had also worked for EMANON and Four Seasons golf courses. John was a member of The Trucksville United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Charlotte Hoyt in 1991. A son, Mark Engler and a son-in-law, Ross Hilderbrand and a brother-in-law Lincoln Lang.  Surviving are his lifelong companion, Novella Huey. Sons, John Engler and his wife Sharon, Kenneth Engler and his wife Linda, Clifford Engler and his wife Carol, Donald Engler and his wife Kathy, Daughter, Alice Engler-Hilderbrand. Sister Emma Lang. Daughter-in-law, Colleen Engler. 11 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren, and one niece.

Funeral services will be held Thursday evening April 6, 2023 at 7:00 PM from The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home Inc., 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas. Friends may call Thursday from 5:00 until time of service. Interment will be in Chapel Lawn Memorial Park, Dallas. On line condolences may be made to Disquefuneralhome.com.
