John “Jack” Regnosky, 85, of West Pittston, went home to be with his Lord & Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, April 26, 2021, after a stay at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, passing of natural causes. Born on September 25, 1935, in Pittston, he was the only child of the late Leo and Elizabeth (Schevets) Regnosky. After finishing school, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp Reserves and was Honorably Discharged in 1959.
As Jack entered the workforce, he was offered a position with Life Magazine, which was located in Scranton at the time. Jack realized his potential and became successful with the company, racking up many awards for his achievements during his time there. Once the company relocated to California, he declined their promotion and offer to relocate. Rather than uprooting his family, he pursued other avenues to hone his sales skills locally. Jack’s true talent, however, was his musicianship. When he sat down at the piano and started to play both old standards, as well as his own jazzy compositions, the room lit up with an amazing array of sounds. His talents landed him regular gigs in the Pocono Mountains’ night life for over 15 years.
Besides his passion for music, Jack also enjoyed spending time with family and friends, going to car shows, dining at all the local restaurants, and being proud of the US Armed Forces as a fellow Marine. It also cannot go without saying that wherever Jack was, a joke was soon to follow; he always saw the humor in life.
In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by Mary Regnosky and his step-granddaughter, Jamie Stanislowski. Surviving are his son, John Regnosky, and his wife, Dodie, of Shavertown; his daughter, Andrea Regnosky, and her fiance, Brian Estock, of Exeter; his granddaughters, Kristine McCracken, Cassandra McCracken, and Heather (Regnosky) Walker; his step-grandson, Christian Stanislowski; as well as several great-grandchildren.
