John A. Wancho, 71, Trucksville, passed away, Friday, September 21, 2018 at his residence. Born in Harrisburg, he was the son of the late John “Dempsey” and Madeline Piefer Wancho and was a graduate of Dallas High School. He was a technician with Proctor and Gamble for 20 years. John had also worked for Try Our Steaks, Swoyersville. John was a Navy Veteran of Viet Nam.
He would frequent the Larksville American Legion. He loved his dogs and had a wonderful sense of humor, enjoyed many sporting events as well as fishing, traveling and going to casinos.
He was preceded in death by his wife the former Bienvenida “Nida” Orioque in 2011 and a brother, Robert Wancho. Surviving are his fiancé Doris Jeffery, Trucksville. Cousins, Nieces, and nephews. Doris’s son, Frank Cummings. 4 Grandchildren.
Funeral will be held Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at 11:00 Am from The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, Inc., 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas, with The Rev. Dr. William Lewis, officiating. Interment will be in Chapel Lawn Memorial Park, Dallas. Friends may call Monday from 6 to 8 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the SPCA of Luzerne County, 524 E. Main Street, Wilkes-Barre, Pa. 18702.
