Joseph Sitar

Joseph J. Sitar, 81, Chester Springs, PA, formerly of Dallas, PA, passed away Saturday, March 26, 2022 at Paoli Hospital. Born in Swoyersville, he was the son of the late John and Anna Kasulaitis Sitar and was a graduate of West Side Central Catholic High School. He was a Maintenance Mechanic with Commonwealth Communications until his retirement. He was previously employed by United Parcel Services, Goodwin Volkswagen, and Gate of Heaven School. After retirement, he worked for Labar’s in the automotive and boat department.  Joe was a fourth degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus 13141, St. Elizabeth’s Church Chester Springs. A few of Joe’s favorite hobbies were cars, drag racing, stained glass, woodworking, and home renovations.  He could build or fix anything; he loved the challenge.  Most recently, he kept busy making lap quilts to donate to local nursing homes with his wife.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Sitar. Surviving are his wife of 53 years, the former Carol Polacky. Daughters, Annette Stella and her husband Joseph, Downingtown, PA, Lucia Sitar, Chester Springs, PA, Paula Murphy and her husband Timothy, Springfield, PA. Sons, Michael Sitar and his wife Edyta, Oxnard, CA, David Sitar, Albion MI. Four Grandchildren, Delfina, husband Georgios, Anna, Michael and Lucas. Brother, John Sitar.

Funeral will be held Saturday, April 2, 2022 at 10:00 from The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, Inc., 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas, Pa. 18612. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 AM at Gate of Heaven Church, Dallas with The Rev. Andrew Hvozdovic, pastor Gate of Heaven Church, officiating. Interment will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery Swoyersville.
