Joy Foulkes

     Joy Foulkes, 71, Dallas, passed away, Monday, May 13, 2024, at her residence. Born in Kingston, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Liva Spencer Harris and attended Dallas High School.

     Joy was a medical secretary with Intermountain Medical Group until her retirement. She was a member of The Wyoming Avenue Christian Church, where she was involved with the churches’ ladies’ brunch, Operation Christmas Shoebox, and other activities. Earlier in her career she worked for Dr. Jan Olenginski as well as Humphreys Bootery. Joy dedicated her time to taking in hospice and rescue dogs and was a transport volunteer for a Keeshond rescue. She loved to watch Pitbull and Parolees, walk her dogs, and feed the deer and birds in her yard.

      Joy was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Harris. Surviving her, are her husband of 28 years, James Foulkes, at home; Son, John Cummings II, Dallas; Daughters: Rachelle Renken, Del Rio, TX; Kara Bruch and her husband Aaron, Dallas; Jennifer Goyne and her husband Kyle, Mountaintop; Amy Musial and her husband Jamie, Hanover. She has 10 Grandchildren: James Cummings, Lindsey Blair, Jarrett Cummings, Michael Cummings, Tyler Renken, Alexandra Bruch, Kaylynn Bruch, Aaron Bruch II, Thomas Goyne and Amelia Joubert and 6 great grandchildren: Raign Keller, Emily Keller, Levi Blair, Colton Blair, Karslyn Cummings and Ammaliare Renken. Brothers: Robert, Donald, Ernie, and Gary Harris. 

      The family would like to extend their gratitude to Compassionate Care Hospice for the excellent care, dignity and understanding they provided to Joy and her family.

     The family has requested that remembrances be made in the form of contributions to Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes at Wyoming Avenue Christian Church, 881 Wyoming Avenue, Kingston, PA, 18704.

 

     Memorial services will be held on, Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at 7:30 PM from The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, Inc., 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas, PA. with The Rev. Dennis Gray, pastor Wyoming Avenue Christian Church, officiating. Friends may call from 5:30 PM until the time of service. Online condolences may be made at Disquefuneralhome.com.
