Leona L. Walter

 Leona L. Walter, 94, Dallas, passed away, Thursday, December 5, 2024 at Hampton House Nursing Center. Born at home, she was the daughter of the late James and Elizabeth Jenkins Lord and was a graduate of Lehman High School class of 1949. 

 Leona was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, Dallas. She was a homemaker most of her life. For a short time, she had worked at Natona Mills, Dallas. She would spend many hours volunteering at The Meadows Nursing Center. Some of her favorite pass times was baking cookies and cooking. She was a Den Mother for the local Cub Scouts. 

 Leona was preceded in death by her husband Philip Walter September of this year, they were married in Huntsville United Methodist Church in February of 1953. Sister, June DeFalco and a brother, James Lord. Surviving is a daughter, Phyllis Walter, Harveys Lake and a son Roy P. Walter and his wife Charlene, Kingston. 3 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren.

 Funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 11, 2024 11:00 AM at Sunnyside Cemetery, 152 Sunnyside Road, Tunkhannock, PA. Arrangements are under the direction of The Richard H.
