Lila Hillard, long-time Kingston resident, died peacefully at home on February 20, 2018 of natural causes.
Born in Kingston on June 8, 1933 to Sterling and Helen Lamoreux, she worked as a hairstylist for many years at Roberts Salon in Dallas. She and husband John Hillard loved to travel to Europe; she continued to indulge her wanderlust more locally after his death in 1992.
Lila, a kind and gregarious person, was an active member of the Church of Christ Uniting in Kingston, Irem Temple’s Women’s Auxiliary, and Eastern Star. She loved animals and adopted several dogs who needed a new family.
She is survived by her step-son Sam Hillard of Levittown, PA and brother and sister-in-law Sterling and Mary Lamoreux II of Dallas. She will be remembered fondly for generosity of spirit and exuberance by her nephew Sterling Lamoreux III of Dallas, and her nieces Cheryl Lamoreux of Cochranville, PA and Dr. Michele Lamoreux Schneider of Glen Mills, PA.
Funeral services will be held privately at the family’s convenience. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to Irem Hospital Transportation Fund, P.O.
