Margaret Berlew

Margaret L. Berlew, 73, Dallas, passed away Saturday, March 20, 2021 at the Timber Ridge Nursing Center in Wilkes-Barre, PA. Born in Kingston, she was the daughter of the late Chester and Margaret (Miers) Barrall and was a graduate of The Lake Lehman High School.

Margaret was employed by the Lake Lehman School District and Native Textiles prior to marrying her husband Richard in 1970.  She was a member of the Orange United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School and was active in the choir for many years.  Margaret enjoyed the simple things in life and found humor where many others could not. She was strong, witty and comical.  Her family and close friends meant everything to her and taking care of them is where she felt most at home.  Margaret loved flowers, nature and was well known for her exceptional baking, cooking and canning abilities that she shared with many.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard in 2016 and brother, James Barrall in 2007. Surviving are her sons Richard Berlew, Jr. and his wife Kim, and Kenneth Berlew, both of Shavertown, grandchildren Samantha and Jesse Berlew, sister Grace Lord and sister-in-law Jeanne Barrall in addition to many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 27, 2021 at 3:00 PM with the Rev. Tom Taylor, pastor, Orange United Methodist Church officiating. Friends may call from 2:00 PM until time of service at the Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas, Pa. 18612.
