Marie Carkhuff

Marie C. Carkhuff, 92, Hunlock Creek, passed away, Thursday, July 1, 2021 at The Meadows Nursing Center, Dallas. Born in Kingston, she was the daughter of the late Wilbur H. and Beulah Smith Calkins and was a graduate of Kingston Twp. High School.

Marie was a secretary with W.E. Pullverman. She was previously associated with Native Textiles. Marie was an avid bowler and Penn State Fan. As well as a season ticket holder with Penn State. Girl Scout leader and Den mother. Marie was a Benefactor of the Wilkes-Barre Campus of Penn State, having a building named for her and her husband Marvin C. and Marie Carkhuff.

She was preceded in death by her husband Marvin Carkhuff, daughter Sharon, and a brother, William Calkins. She is survived by a sister, Betty Gordon.
