Marie Mccoog

Marie V. McCoog, 95 of Del Haven, NJ, formerly of Dallas, Pa., passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, January 5, 2023. Born in Palmyra, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Kathryn McMullen Schaefer. Marie was predeceased by her husband James A. McCoog, sons Micheal and Daniel McCoog, sister Elizabeth and her brother George (Theresa).

Marie was a graduate of Camden Catholic highschool and Wilkes University. She went on to realize her dream of teaching through art with the Luzerne intermediate unit at Dallas school district until her retirement. She was a woman of strong faith and a long time member of St. Therese’s Church in Shavertown, PA, where she was a Eucharistic minister and on the Bereavement committee.

Marie is survived by her loving family;

Son in Laws, David McMahon, David Nichols

Daughters, Elizabeth Borowski (Robert), Therese Sibley (Dennis), Mary McCoog, Patricia McMahon (Bruce)

Daughter in Law, Jeanne (late Daniel)

19 Grandchildren, 23 Great Grandchildren, and 5 Great Great Nieces and Nephews, cousins

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at 9:30 AM from The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas with Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at St. Therese’s Church, Shavertown. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
