Marjorie E. McCarty

Marjorie E. McCarty, 93, Dallas, passed away, Sunday, October 13, 2024 at Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore. Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late Ralph E. Sr. and Beatrice Thomas Walp and was a graduate of Dallas Boro High School. 

 She was an Engineering Associate with Commonwealth Communications for 35 years retiring in 1992. Marjorie was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and the church DORCAS Society. She was also a member of The Order of The Eastern Star, Chapter #396, Dallas as Mother Advisor. Irem Auxiliary. Marjorie would volunteer much of her time with The Meadows Nursing Center and the The Red Cross. 

 Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband Victor McCarty in 2015, Daughter Marjorie L. McCarty, Grandson Eric R. McCarty, Brothers, Ralph E., Robert M., and Donald S. Walp. Sister, Sarah Ell Cartwright. 

 Surviving are her son, Richard E. McCarty and his wife Nancy, Larksville. Grandchildren, HeatherM. McCarty, Stephanie L. McCarty, Great Grandchildren, Madison E. McCarty, Rylan E. McCarty, and Haley R. Smith.

 Memorial service will be Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at 10:00 AM from St. Paul’s Lutheran Church 474 Yalick Road, Dallas, with The Rev, Charles Grube, pastor St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, officiating. Friends may call Tuesday, October 22 from 6 to 8 PM at The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, Inc., 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas. On line condolences may be made at Disquefuneralhome.com
