Mary J. Stash, 66 of Plymouth, PA, and formerly of Jackson Township, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 30, 2024, surrounded by her family.
Born August 14, 1957 in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the former Frances Elencik Stash and the late Steven Stash. Mary attended Gate of Heaven School in Dallas, PA, and was a graduate of Lake-Lehman High School, class of 1975. She attended Our Lady of Victory Church, Harveys Lake.
Mary was a true lover of art and music and the beauty in this world. Mary’s talents and creativity resulted in beautiful flower bouquets, greeting cards and gardening. She was especially fond of visiting famers markets. She loved her family and making friends and had such a beautiful and kind heart. Her memory was famous – remembering all the birthdays of her parents, siblings, children, nieces and nephews and friends. Mary held various jobs, and her favorites were packing tomatoes at Sutliff’s Farm in Sweet Valley, and working at the former Scranton Lace Company.
She was deeply devoted to Jesus, the Blessed Mother and Saint Padre Pio. They were a daily inspiration to her especially when struggling with her mental health. Mary was persistent and always supported mental health awareness.
Mary is survived by her mother Mrs. Frances Stash; her daughters, Stephanie Stash, Wilkes-Barre and Katrina Stash, Plains. Grandchildren: Sativa, Jovanni, Azire, Azim, Zamir, and Aviana. Sisters: Susan Miller, Frances Stash, Jane Cawley. Brothers: Steve, Michael, Christopher, Charles, and Mark Stash; and numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws.
The family would like to thank the former Community Counseling Services, Robinson Counseling, Compassus Hospice and Regional Hospital of Scranton for their compassionate care and support.
