Mary Templin Reese, age 95, of 126 Franklin Street, Dallas, passed away, on February 3, 2017 at The Meadows Nursing and rehabilitation Center, Dallas. Born in Easton, Pa., on July 24, 1921, she was the daughter of the late RJW and Edith Eliott Templin. She lived in Dallas since 1922, attended The Dallas Borough Schools and graduated from West Pittston High School in 1939. She attended The Dean School of Business, Wyoming Seminary, and worked for The Eureka Casaully Company in Wilkes-Barre. She also worked many years for Dr. Irvin Jacobs, Dallas Family Practice and the Wyoming Valley Health Care System. Mary was a World War II Veteran serving in the Women's Army Corp. (WAC) in two Army Hospitals, Finney General Hospital, Thomasville, GA., and Moore General Hospital, Swananoa, North Carolina. She was also an active member of the Dallas United Methodist Church and sang in the Church Choir for more than 70 years. Mary was a member of the Sister Circle, and in her early years taught Sunday school classes. She was a member of the Dallas Women's Club Chorale and one of the highlights of her life was singing Christmas Carols with the group in Grand Central Station, New York City. She was a member of The Daddow-Isaac American Legion Post 672, Dallas. She Golfed and Bowled well into her 90's. Mary was preceded by her husband, Lewis J. Reese and her son Lewis J. Reese, Jr. (Johnny), seven brothers, Richard, William, Phillip, Ralph, Robert, Thomas, and Fred Templin and two sisters, Evelyn Eck and Jeanne Maxwell. Mary was the last of the Templin family of ten siblings. She is survived by her three daughters, Peggy (Tom ) Bowers, Stuart, Fla., Kathy Reese, Monroe, CT., and Diane (Gary) Klossner, Jamesville, NY.; Grandchildren, Rebecca Klossner, Greensboro, NC., Greg (Caitlin) Klossner, Albany, OR., and Jessie Reese, Dallas. Great Granddaughter, Maura Jane Klossner and numerous nieces and nephews. Mary asked not to be mourned. She had a wonderful life. Besides caring for her family. She especially enjoyed being "Aunt Mary" and opening her home to everyone. Memorial Service will be held at the end of February and will be announced from The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home Inc., 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas. Interment will be in Fern Knoll Burial Park, Dallas. Mary's family would like to thank her many wonderful neighbors and church family for their attention and support.
