Mary Williams

Mary Josephine Williams, 82, of Dallas, beloved wife of Jack Williams, passed away, on March 31, 2018 in Wilkes-Barre, Pa.

Born, July 31, 1935 in the Parsons section of Wilkes-Barre, Mary was the daughter of the late Anthony and Elizabeth Zeto. A Coughlin High School (“53”) graduate, she worked for many years at First Eastern Bank, Dallas Area High School, and Misericordia University. She retired in 1988 and together with Jack traveled to England, Italy, Mexico, Canada, and most of the states including Alaska and Hawaii.

Known as Josie, Mom, or Grandma, she shared her love of family through old world recipes from her beloved mother from San Nicola Del Alto, Italy, and this love of cooking is now forever our family’s traditional celebration of life.

They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on a cruise to Bermuda with their children and grandchildren.  The family will gather to celebrate their 60th anniversary on April 26th.

The family would like to thank the wonderful and caring staff at Highland Park, Celtic Hospice and Erwine Home Health, especially Maureen who lovingly cared for Mary for many years.

Mary is survived by her husband Jack, son David (Martha), daughters Kathy (Rodrigo) Gereda and Sharon (Lynn) Nehila, grandchildren Carson (Jessie) Williams, Kate (Cody) Will, Arisa, Katie, Maria, Max, and Greyson and great grandchild Charlie, sisters Annette (Paul)Klein, Jean (Duncan) Erikson and Betty (Chris) Manfre  and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 10:00 Am at Gate of Heaven Church, Dallas with the Rev. Daniel Toomey, pastor, Gate of Heaven Church, officiating. Friends may call from 9:00 until time of service at the church. Private interment will be at Chapel Lawn Memorial Park, Dallas. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Make A Wish Foundation of America, at Wish.org.
