Michael A. Fiske, 69, Dallas, passed away Friday, June 3, 2022 in the Post Acute Medical Specialty Hospital at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital . Born in Kingston, he was the son of the late Loren and Mary Monast Fiske and was a graduate of Central Catholic High School and attended Kings College.
Mike was a member of Gate of Heaven Church, Dallas and loved working with his wife in the potato pancake stand during the Bazaar. He also took it upon himself to gather others around him.
Mike was preceded in death by his wife Kathy with whom he shared a wonderful but all too short of a time together. They shared the love of the shore and their nieces and nephew. They spent most of their vacations at the NJ shore or traveling to Myrtle Beach, always accompanied by his in-laws, Bill and Mary Ann Skammer, who loved Mike like a son. Mike loved golf, softball, Penn State Football, and his only demise, the Phillies! He and Kathy loved their niece and nephew, Scott and Sara. Trips to Knoebels, Harvey’s Lake, and for ice cream were always on the agenda! They never missed a baseball game or gymnastic meet.
Mike was the most generous and unselfish person. He never once complained about the bad hand he was dealt, and he lived with pride and dignity. He was the “Mayor” of Greenbrier, and all the workers loved him. A very special thank you to all who cared for him so lovingly over these last few years. He will be missed, but he is with Kathy now.
In addition to his parents, He was preceded in death by his wife the former Kathy Skammer, and his mother in law, Mary Ann Skammer.
Surviving are his sister, Laurel Fiske, Dallas. Brothers, Matthew Fiske and his wife Mary and daughters, Maria and Anna Kingston and Anthony Fiske, Dallas, Father-in-law, William Skammer, Brother-in-law Steve and his wife Ruth Skammer and their children Scott and Sara.
