Michael B. Rahl, 55, Luzerne, passed away, Friday, January 19, 2018 at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Born in New Brunswick, NJ. He was the son of the late Bernard A. and Regina Bellas Rahl and was a graduate of St. Mary’s School, South Amboy, NJ. Michael received his Bachelor’s degree from Ramapo College NJ. And his masters in Social Work from Marywood University, Scranton.
Michael was in Social Work and Counseling with Northeast Counseling Services, Nanticoke. He was formerly associated with The County Caseworker II, Luzerne County Children and Youth, Drug and Alcohol Treatment Specialist, Wyoming Valley Alcohol and Drug Services, BSC/Mobile Therapist Milestone Community Health, Wyoming Valley, Outpatient Counseling, Choices Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Center, Kingston, Director, Horizons Program, Northeast Counseling Services, Nanticoke. He was a soloist in Music Ministry at Holy Family Parish. Michael participated in local theater groups, namely Little Theater of Wilkes-Barre, KISS Theater, Gaslight Theater, Nuangola Grove Theater, Showcase Theater, Music Box Playhouse, and The Bracken Theater. He was also a member of AA.
Surviving is his sister, JoAnn Rahl, Naples Fla. Several cousins.
Memorial service will be held Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at 4:00 PM at Unity Church of NEPA, 140 S. Grant Street, Wilkes-Barre. Arrangements are under the direction of The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, Inc., 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas. In Lieu of flowers donations may be sent to The Michael Bernard Rahl Theater Scholarship Fund, Checks may be made out to WVW Activity Fund, 150 Wadman Street, Plymouth, Pa., 18651.
