Richard S. Gregory

Dushore

 Richard S. Gregory, 94, Dallas, formerly of Dushore, passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley South Hospital with his family by his side. Born on April 19, 1930 in Trucksville, he was the son of the late William and Hattie Cease Gregory and was a graduate of Kingston Township High School.

 Richard served in the United States Army, 5th Infantry Division, in the Korean War from 1951 to 1952. He spent his career at the Pennsylvania Gas & Water Company as Superintendent, Water Measurement Control and after retiring in 1991, Richard moved to Alaksa. He eventually returned to Pennsylvania, where he lived in the family’s hunting cabin in Dushore. Richard was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed family get togethers and traveling the country with his horse, Nina, in tow. 

 Richard was preceded in death by his daughters, Carol and Joan Gregory. Sisters, Melba Gregory, Louise Wilson, Marian Elliott, and Dorothy Weber. Brothers, Luther and Allan Gregory. Surviving is his daughter, Lynn Smith and her husband Victor, Silver Spring, MD. Sons, Wilson Gregory and his wife Patricia, White Haven, Paul Gregory and his partner, Tania, Fairbanks, AK, and Eric Gregory and his wife Bonnie, White Haven. In addition, he is survived by his grandchildren Dylan and Evan Smith, Kimberly and Brandon Scott, and Eleanor, Grady, and Samantha Williams, along with several nieces and nephews.

 The family would like to thank Drew and David Ditzler for the friendship and help they gave to Richard over the years, and to the staff at The Village at Greenbriar for their care and kindness to him.
