Robert J. Law, 87, Dallas, went home to be with his Lord, Thursday, February 11, 2021 at his residence. Born in Larksville, he was the son of the late Harry and Louise Harrison Law and was a graduate of Larksville High School, where he served as class president.
Bob was a member of The Valley View Union Chapel and was very active with his church as treasurer and Sunday School Teacher. He was a member of The Back Mountain Men’s Ecumenical Group. He worked at ACME markets for 36 years. Bob could be seen at many local sporting events. In spring and summer, he could be seen on the baseball and softball fields, umpiring. In the fall, he would be with the “chain gang” at Dallas Football games. In winter, you would see him running the clock at Dallas Basketball games. Bob was a former president of the Back Mountain Little League. He was instrumental in starting the Little League Softball program. Over his lifetime, he donated over 20 gallons of blood. Bob ministered at the Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, for over 25 years. He also served as auxiliary president and was instrumental in organizing the Market on the Pond event. He enjoyed spending hours playing Rummikub and Skipbo with his family. He was delighted to spend time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Bob was a pillar of strength to his family, their rock, a constant prayer warrior, devoted Bible reader, and a faithful encourager with the kindest soul. He was a man of great faith and great courage who lived his life being the hands and feet of Jesus.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, the former Mary Boyer, sisters, Florence Dennis and Grace Hicks, and an infant son, Randy. Surviving are his daughters, Nancy Jacobs and her husband Robert, Milton, Lorie Killian and her husband Matt, Shickshinny. Son, Jay Law and his wife Wendy, Indian Trail, NC. 8 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren, brother, Thomas Law and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM and again Friday morning from 10:00 AM to noon at The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, Inc, 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas, Pa. 18612. Private funeral services will be held at the family’s convenience. Interment will be at Chapel Lawn Memorial Park, Dallas.
