Robert Williams, Sr.

Robert “Bob” J. Williams, Sr., 84, Trucksville, passed away Friday, November 30, 2018 at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late David and Laura (Williams) Williams. He attended Meyers High School, Wilkes-Barre and retired from the Tobyhanna Army Depot.

Bob was an Air Force veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of The Second Welsh Congregational Church, Wilkes-Barre and then a member of The Shavertown United Methodist Church. Bob was a fun-loving man who became friends with everyone he met. He was an avid bowler, roller skater, golfer, train collector and fisherman. He was a caring, compassionate and humorous man and loved by all.

He was preceded in death by a brother David Williams; a sister Ruth Petcavage; and a granddaughter Amy.  Surviving is his wife of 26 years Gloria (Dolbear); sister Alice Thomas; daughter Lisa Lozier and her husband Earl; sons Robert J. Williams, Jr. and Kenneth A. Williams; grandchildren Jesse and Jennifer Lozier, Beth Winfiandale, Robert J. Williams III and his wife Kelly, Kyle Williams, and Paige Williams; great grandchildren Ebony Griggs, Dominic and Ember Winfiandale and Robert J. Williams IV; stepsons Jeffrey Miller and his wife Becky, Brianrain Miller and his wife Catherine; step-grandchildren Logan, Joseph, Brandon and Nathaniel Miller and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be held Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at 11:00 AM from The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, Inc., 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas, with The Rev. Judy Walker, pastor, Shavertown United Methodist Church officiating. Interment with Military Honors will be in Chapel Lawn Memorial Park, Dallas. Friends may call Monday from 6 to 8 PM.
