Romaine Isabel Latimer Kunkle

       Romaine Isabel Latimer Kunkle, 90 of Dallas, PA died peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 after fighting many courageous battles with several medical conditions. She was born in Kingston, PA on September 27, 1933 to William P. and Elizabeth Isabel Latimer. After graduating from Kingston High School she worked at Wyoming National Bank and Commonwealth Telephone. On May 16, 1953 she married the love of her life, best friend and confidante Paul H. Kunkle, and for the next 70 years they created a loving, warm and welcoming home for their four children, Mark (Sandy), Kathy Schrecengost (John), Bruce (Bonnie) and Polly Schaefer (David), including seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

      Early on Romaine loved family camping, especially at Lake Cayuga in New York. Spending time and hosting awesome family meals were some of her most enjoyable times.

     She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, baking, travel, antiquing, dancing and spending time during the winters at her home in Bradenton, Florida. She sang in her church choir and played in the bell choir.  She was a member of Priscilla Circle and the Irem Ladies Auxillary. As an avid golfer she was a member of three women’s golf leagues.

        In addition to her husband and children she is survived by a sister Caroline numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Jean and Delores and brother Louis.

        The Kunkle Family wishes to thank the Shavertown United Methodist Church and Orange United Methodist Church, the Henry Cancer Center, Allied Services and her home health care workers Amy and April.
