Shirley Ann Hanson, 77, of Harveys Lake, passed away Monday, January 13, 2014 at her residence after a courageous battle with Cancer. She was born in Pittston, daughter of the late Allen David and Helen Louise Connors Roat. Shirley was a graduate of Pittston Area High School. She was a former member of the Harveys Lake Women's Club. She and her husband had owned and operated Don Hanson's Amusement Park, Harveys Lake for many years. Shirley was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church, Harveys Lake. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Donald J. E. Hanson in 1990. Surviving are her daughter, Donna M. Hanson and son, David Hanson, both of Harveys Lake, Step-children, Correale Stevens, Hazleton, Donald Hanson, Hollywood, Fla., Bruce Hanson, Harveys Lake., 6 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren. Sisters, Rose Mary Sabol, Harrisburg and Regina Thompson, Seattle Wash. Funeral service will be held privately and the convenience of the family. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, Inc., 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas.
