Shirley Zimmerman, 84, of Dallas, passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 31, 1928 in Plymouth New Hampshire, to the late Lawrence and Marie Dickelmier Stevens. For many years Shirley worked along side her husband as an office manager of A.M. Zimmerman Sheet Metal Company, a family owned business. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Dallas, a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, an advisor for the Rainbow Girls and a volunteer with The Girl Scouts of America in the Back Mountain. She was a Judge of Elections for Dallas Borough for many years. She loved nothing more than watching her family grow and took pride and joy in there many accomplishments. She enjoyed traveling and playing cards with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband Harold A. Zimmerman, fun loving Grandson Marty Kanaar, and brothers: Larry and Robert Stevens. Surviving are her Sons: Larry Gordon and his wife Roxie, Cheshire, Conn., Craig Gordon and his wife Kayleen, Tampa, Fla., Daughters: Sandy Sprau and her husband Duane, Dallas, Debbie Eyerman and her husband Gene, Larksville, and Cory Geary and her husband Dan, Richmond, VA. 12 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren. Sister: Anita Bullaro and a cousins Gail Ogden and Alfred Puccetti, and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral will be held Monday, June 10, 2013 at 10 AM from the Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas, with the Rev. Charles Grube, pastor St. Paul's Lutheran Church, officiating. Friends may call Sunday from 4 to 6 PM. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, R.R. #4, Box 627A, Dallas, Pa. 18612 or to Celtic Hospice Healthcare of NEPA, 601 Wyoming Ave,., Kingston, Pa. 18704. The family extends heartfelt thanks to the cre givers from Hospice for the kindness and love extended during her final days.
