Walter Jesse Booth Sr., 84, of Courtdale, passed away on Monday October 8, 2018 while hunting on State Gamelands 66 in Sullivan County. Born in Hunlock Creek, he was the son of the late Peter and Carrie Wright Booth and was a graduate of Larksville High School and owned and operated his own auto repair shop, Walt’s Garage in Courtdale.
Walt was a member of The Laurel Run P.M. Church and was a former member of The Parsons P.M. Church. He served in the U.S. Army, having been drafted twice during the Korean War and the Bay of Pigs Invasion. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman.
He was preceded in death by a great granddaughter, numerous brothers and sisters. Surviving is wife of 58 years, the former Margaret Heuer, at home, Son, Walter J. Booth, Jr., Colorado, Daughters, Jean Branas and her husband Michael, Swoyersville, Virginia Midkiff and her husband David, Larksville. 6 Grandchildren and 12 Great Grandchildren including Johanna Jesse Booth and Walter Jesse Booth IV, his partner in crime, Sisters, Clara Simon, Marge Evans, Carolyn Booth, Helen Lewis, and Shirley Booth, Brother, Peter Booth.
Funeral will be held Friday, October 12, 2018 at 11:30 Am from The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, Inc., 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas, with The Rev. Dr. K. Gene Carrol, pastor Laurel Run Primitive Methodist Church, officiating. Private Interment will be in Chapel Lawn Memorial Park, Dallas. Friends may call Friday from 9:30 Am until time of service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations sent to the American Red Cross 256 N. Sherman Street, Wilkes-Barre, Pa. 18702 or the Laurel Run P.M.
