William W. Cutter, 91, a longtime resident of Dallas, passed away Thursday, April 5, 2018 at Celtic Hospice, Wilke-Barre. Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Walter and Nora Healey Cutter, both originally from Wilkes-Barre later residing in Detroit, Michigan. He was a graduate of Meyers High School, Wilkes-Barre class of 1945 and attended King’s College and Whitney School of Art.
Bill was a design engineer with Commonwealth Telephone until his retirement. He was a veteran of WW II serving in the Army, joining in 1945. He completed basic training at Fort McClellan in Birmingham, Alabama, where he also attended radio school. He was stationed in Germany where he remained until his discharge and returned to the U.S. He then took advantage of the schooling offered by the government for service in the military. He was a member of Gate of Heaven Church, Dallas. William was also a member of the golf league of Commonwealth Telephone. He was an accomplished artist with his paintings and drawings enjoyed by many family and friends.
He is preceded in death by infant son William John and a sister, Corrine Stimetz. Surviving are his wife the former Mary Rita McCue, at home, daughters, N. Lynn Wilson and her husband Charles, Dallas, Amy Borton and her husband Michael, Dallas; sons, Dr. Bill Cutter, Boston, MA, Gary Cutter and his fiancé Alice DeBise, Dallas, Brian Cutter and his wife April, Harveys Lake; Grandchildren Jennifer (Aaron) Chesonis, Allison (Richie) Samanas, Matthew, Christopher (Amanda), Jonathan Wilson, Crystal (Mark) Meinert, Cody and Kenley Cutter, Adam, Megan and Ryan Borton and Great Grandchildren Jacob and Ashlyne Chesonis and Riley and Carter Samanas;
Sister-in-law Connie Dombroski, Brother-in-law Paul (Grace) McCue, Sister-in-law Dolores Dunleavy, Brother-in-law Gerald (Patty) McCue, Sister-in-law Ann Marie Gavigan, Sister-in-law Sally Kane. Deceased in-laws, Jack & Kay McCue, Donald McCue, Michael Dunleavy, Donnie Gavigan. Harry Dombroski.
Memorial Service will be held Monday, April 9, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Gate of Heaven Church, Dallas, with the Rev. Daniel Toomey, pastor, Gate of Heaven Church, officiating. Friends may call Sunday evening from 6:00 to
