William Gately

William F. Gately, Jr, 74, Shavertown, passed away, Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at his residence. Born in Detroit, MI, he was the son of the late William F. and Dorothy Shiner Gately and was a graduate of Luzerne High School and the Pennsylvania State Police Academy.

William was a Pennsylvania State Trooper with the Wyoming Barracks before his retirement. He was a Veteran in the Marine Corp during the Viet Nam era.  Some of his favorite hobbies were hunting and fishing, and golf as well as cooking. He was a member of King David Masonic Lodge #763, F & Am, Kingston, Caldwell Consistory, Bloomsburg and a former member of Irem Shrine, Dallas. He was aslo a member of Daddow Isaacs post #672 American Legion, Dallas.

He was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Desiree Eslick and two step-grandchildren. Surviving are his son, William J. Gately, Shavertown brother, Barry Gately, Forty-fort and two step-grandsons.

Funeral service were held privately at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, Inc., 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas.
