William Koperna

William J. Koperna, 94, Trucksville, (formerly of Coaldale) passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital. Born in Coaldale, Pa, he was the son of the late Stephen and Katherine Trebichalsky Koperna and was a graduate of Coaldale High School. He had worked in the auto parts industry for Bundy Tubing until his retirement.

William was a World War II Veteran and served his country in The Army Air Force. William had affiliations with The American Legion Post #170 Coaldale and the VFW of Coaldale. He was an avid sports fan and at one time was scouted by the Philadelphia Phillies as a left-handed pitcher.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Antoinette Lamana in 2018. Surviving are his daughters, Stephanie Sheridan and her husband Daniel, Trucksville, and Mary Anne White and her husband Craig, Leesburg, VA., 4 Granddaughters and 6 Great Grandsons.

Memorial Service will be held, Saturday, October 5 at 11:00 am at St. Therese’s Church, Shavertown. Arrangements are under the direction of The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, Inc., 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas.
